Backround of the new President
Written by the communication service for the town of Bayonne (V. Auberty)
“We have a single asset"
Yves Brillaxis, succeeds Dominique Destribats as the president of the Office de commerce of Bayonne two years ago. His objective has been to develop the commercial assets of Bayonne.
At Brillaxis, a jeweler and watchmaker over four generations. A family shop impanted in the heart of the city since 1953. The 41 year old father of the family clearly implied his "work ethic"! Imbedded for a long time in the Bayonne business scene, it also chaired the Business Union about 10 years ago - Yves Brillaxis knows this subject well:
“I was always interested in the problematics facing business. Bayonne is the biggest commercial hub in the Basque Country and we have major advantages: Convenance of access, a wide a varied selection of products and the know-how of crafts and tradesmen. This should be developed."
We listen to you
Created in 1998 the Office de Commerce has the mission to develop business of the town, its economy, reputation, but in particular forming alliances between al the authorities and bodies that run it.
One of the things the new president wishs to develop is greater consultation between these groups.
“We officially integrated a technical group that represents cafes/restaurants, big businesses and resident associations. A true partnership created to listen to every voice in its drive to improve communication".
A long trading experience allows for a human and social approach:
“Bayonne Businesses employ more workers than all the shopping centres of the region combined. It is necessary to think of their welfare, development, quality of life, career development. When the workers feel good, the shoppers do too!"

Practical information
(copie 1)
Located at the bottom of a gallo-roman tower, smack in the historical middle of the town, in one of the smallest streets in Bayonne. Being actually the lung of this beautiful area in the left bank, at the beggining it could not expect to a national or regional recognition and gratitude, but now it does.
The plan is to assert itself as a place of artistic production nationally recognized, in one or another field of contemporary art. More than a hundred of shows including theatre, music and dance and twenty two records which have come into existence with the National Scene Bayonne contest, since its creation in 1990! Seven shows were received in 2010, co-produced by the national Scene, some of them created at the Bayonne theatre: Diaspora bidalan by the Theatre du Versant, the "journal à quatre mains" by the Argula Theatre, High Dolls by the Pagaï Opera, Le Ciel est pour tous by the Theatre de l'Est Parisien...
Diffusion, subscriptions, ticket prices: to organize and and compare artistic forms giving priority to contemporary creation. Artistic dissemination is the most important part of the work of the national Scene. In order to realise it, a lot of work has to be called up. The season composition tries an equilibrium between the desire of the audience, the will to suggest new artists, and the worrying about giving priority to contemporary creation, less known in the region. That is why the subscription composition invites spectators to discovery. The shows are divided in three categories (A, B, C). It is up to the subscriber to choose an equal number of shows in each category. Six options of subscription are proposed, from three spectacles to twelve, allowing a high reduction of ticket prices, comparing it with full fare.
The season card or "young season", necessarily taken out with subscriptions, can also be taken out without subscription. It allows the non-suscriber to have a significant discount.
